Job Description
We seek a motivated and experienced Volunteer Manager to join our senior advocacy organization. In this role, you will coordinate and oversee our volunteer program, ensuring volunteers receive the support and training they need to make a meaningful impact. If you have a passion for organizing and leading volunteer efforts, this opportunity lets you directly contribute to the protection and well-being of seniors in our community.
Please note: This is an unpaid position with the potential to convert to a full-time paid role within 120 days or less, depending on our funding or continued fundraising success.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and Onboard Volunteers: Identify, interview, and onboard individuals passionate about senior advocacy. Match volunteers with roles that align with their skills and interests.
- Train and Develop Volunteers: Provide comprehensive training and ongoing development opportunities to ensure volunteers feel confident and effective in their roles.
- Supervise and Support Volunteers: Monitor volunteer activities, offer guidance, and address any challenges they face. Foster a positive and collaborative environment.
- Organize Volunteer Events: Plan and coordinate events, including training sessions, recognition ceremonies, and community outreach initiatives.
- Track and Report Volunteer Impact: Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities and hours. Report on the impact volunteers make on the organization and the seniors we serve.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with senior leadership to align volunteer efforts with organizational goals. Contribute to strategic planning and program development.
Qualifications:
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrate strong leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing volunteer programs or similar initiatives.
- Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers.
- Organizational Skills: Showcase strong organizational abilities, managing multiple tasks and projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Interpersonal Skills: Build and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Address challenges proactively and find creative solutions to enhance the volunteer experience.
